Swansea Student Union Website HackIf there was ever any proof that using off the shelf website content management packages were a bad idea, this has to be it.  The Swansea University Student’s Union website runs off a package called Joomla! which describes itself on its website as:

Joomla! is one of the most powerful Open Source Content Management Systems on the planet. It is used all over the world for everything from simple websites to complex corporate applications. Joomla! is easy to install, simple to manage, and reliable.

This of course means that anyone can easily find out how it works and break it.  Well, someone has, and has not only tried it out on the SU website, but left a nice little message for Paul Robbins (the webmaster) to find when he comes into work at 9am on Monday morning.  Click the screenshot on the right to view the message in all its glory.  Great start to the week he is going to have!  James and I will be desperately trying to keep a straight face next time we see him in the waterfront office.
